Time Out For Women

Weekend of Sept 11 & 12 I went to Time Out for Women, which is put on by Deseret Book. It was an absolutely amazing weekend and a very spiritual weekend! I went with my dear friend Marisa Pugmire, her sister and my other dear friend April McKinnon.

One of the best things this weekend for me was discovering Hilary Weeks! I had never heard her before, but when she sang on Friday night it was so AMAZING! Her music and lyrics has so much passion in it.....AMAZING is all I can say you should check her out! There were numerous speakers that I enjoyed as well...I can't wait to go again next year! I think were going to try and go to the Las Vegas show next year.

Happy Birthday Galixi

So today is my best friend's birthday...GALIXI...I just love her to pieces!
Background on us: well she hated my guts and I hated hers when we first met...go figure huh?! Anyway our nonfriendship became friendship which became best friendship over a a 10yr period! I can't believe I have know her for that long and gone through all of that and we are still great friends. I seriously could not live without her! Question here is how did we accomplish this friendship...well I had a huge crush on one of her brothers and so ordinarily she hated me...hahaha! Eventually I started dating her brother and we SLOWLY started becoming friends, over the years of dating her brother we became better and better friends and the when we stopped dating her and I became even better friends...so I thank Xam for bringing Galixi into my life!
All about Galixi: Well what can I say...she is such a wonderful person, very intelligent, absolutely BEAUTIFUL and has a heart of GOLD! Currently she works for her parents as their bookkeeper and she also sells candy and jewelry cleaner at THE SHOPMEET (check it out sometime right next to Old Navy near the Boise Towne Square Mall). The Shopmeet has many different business's' that are in there selling their product...great place to go for an assortment of items. She recently got a new puppy and he is so adorable...Rambo....he is a doberman and on Labor Day we, with her parents, drove to Howell, Ut to pick him up!
I hope that everyone has a chance to have friend like I have. She has been there for me though good and bad and I have done the same for her. She is the one I call first to tell all my news to and she is the one that knows all my secrets! Who could ask for someone so great?
I am so Blessed!
Galixi...I LOVE YOUR GUTS friend!

Rya got this red lipstick for her Auntie and when Auntie wouldn't put it on Rya asked Galixi if SHE could have it and she promised to get her a new one...kids are so cute!

Dancing Thru the Decades

Last weekend the Institute was celebrating 50 years in Boise, Id. They had all sorts of events through out the weekend. The weekend was kicked off by a dance and the theme was dressing through out the decades...so we could choose anything from 50's to now...of course I chose the 80's because they are my favorite, plus I already had some cool clothing from a party I went to on New Years and I also was able to borrow some things from Janel!

Liah went to the dance with me...thanks Liah for not making me go by myself!

Chris Russell and I showing how cool WE ARE!!

Me on the way to Liah's house!

April dancing the night away!
Saturday Night: Special fireside with Brad Wilcox as the speaker! He was funny and a very good speaker...the funniest part was when he was telling us about when he told his wife that he had been asked to speak to us and she said "What are you speaking on?" He said " Turning Strengths into Weakness" she just said "Well you should know what that is all about" what he hadn't realized is that he said it backwards...what he meant was Turning Weakness into Strengths!
Sunday Night: ALEX BOYE= AMAZING!!!
Alex Boye is a man from London who was part of a British boy band and is now part of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir! He was a convert to the Church at the age of 16! The most amazing part about Alex to me is that he just carries the Spirit with him! Being in his presence and listening to his story just make you want to be a better person! Not only is he an amazing speaker but he does have an amazing voice...he sang 'How Great Thou Art' and it was absolutely beautiful. In fact I have now been inspired to go buy his CD! I even got to go up to him after the fireside and thank him for coming and letting him know how much his words have inspired me!
Thank you Institute committee for all the hard work you put into this weekend it was GREAT!

1st Dinner Safari

1st Dinner Safari: Bitter Creek Ale House

Good choice Mr. Tyson Chaplin!!

So about a month ago my Dad, sister and I were eating at this pizza joint (Pie Hole) which we had never eaten at...but really did like. We got to talking about how we always eat at the same old places and how we need to start eating at different resturants! My good buddy Tyson is always talking about different resturants he eats at...so I designated him as our leader and he came up with our spectacular name: Dinner Safari!!!

The Deal: We will meet up once a month and try a resturant that we have never had before, Tyson picks the place.

This months Dinner Safari was at the Bitter Creek Ale House, downtown Boise and it was fantastic. I had a bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious! The prices were pretty reasonable too...always a plus!
