Catch Up

Ok lately, I have not taken any pictures. I am a slacker, I didn't even take any on Christmas Day! So quick run down on all the happenings.

Dad and I went down to Utah to attend the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. We left Boise at 11am arrived in Woodscross (Marisa's sisters) at about 3:30pm. Hung out with the Pugmire's and all of Marisa's family until it was time to head into Salt Lake. Walked around Temple Square and saw all the beautiful lights and then headed to the Conference Center and watched the concert. It was a reallly good concert...my favorite part was the organ soloist. Right after the concert Dad and I decided to head home because a big storm was supposed to come thru during the night, well a big storm did start coming thru about the time we got just outside of Tremonton, UT and it snowed all the rest of the way home to Meridian. We left Salt Lake at 9:45pm and we arrived in Meridian at 3 am. It made for a long day, but Dad and I had lots of fun!

Casey and Caroline were sealed in the Boise Temple. The 12th happened to be there 1 year anniversary. I am so happy for them and I am so glad that they were able to be sealed together, what a wonderful blessing to them and their future family. After the sealing they came out of the Temple and had their pictures taken. It was snowing and I cannot wait to see how the pictures turned out. I'm sure they are beautiful. Caroline was such a trooper, she was walking around in the snow with opened toe shoes, just so she could get some really great pictures.

We had a Relief Society Meeting at my house. We made hot chocolate and then went caroling to the members of our branch presidency. There were 10-13 girls, which is a wonderful turn out and we had tons of fun together.

The big shopping day.....YAY!!!! So Mom, Galixi, Cathy (David's Mom) and I all went wedding dress shopping. We started at Margene's Bridal at 11:30am. We were there for about 1 1/2 hours, went and got lunch at Applebees and then went to Heartfelt Bridal at 2:15pm. I loved dresses at both places, but the one that was the tear jerker was at Heartfelt Bridal. It also happened to be the last dress I tried on for the day. I am so happy with it and it so me. I cannot wait for David to see it on March 25, 2010. Thank you for your help and support Mom, Galixi & Cathy.

This day was BUSY!!! I worked from 8am to noon. Got off work, had to finish up some last minute shopping, picked up David, went to US Bank, Maverick, Idaho Central Credit Union and then Red Robin to meet up with Galixi and my Mom for lunch. Galixi and I did our gift exchange. She got me a beautiful ring (pictures to come later), I have wanted a ring very simular to the one she got me for about 5 years. It is a big square Amethyst (fashion ring). Then went to Mom's picked up some gifts she wanted me to wrap for her, went home and crashed for about 2 hours. Went to the Cornwell dwelling and had pizza and watched Polar Express, went home made dough, wrapped a few presents and crashed!

Got up at 8:30 am, started rolling out my dough and tying it into knots (best rolls ever, thanks Marisa for the recipe). Everyone showed up at 10am to unwrap presents. 1pm dinner at the Cornwell's and at 2:30pm Movie: The Squeakquel (I actually like this one better than the 1st). After the movie we went back to the Cornwell's to play games and watch movies, all and all it was a good day! Got some cool gifts too:

Slept till 11:30 am and then got up and cleaned house all day. David came over at 4:30pm and we started making enchilada casserole. His family and my Dad came over at 6pm to eat with us and we went saw AVATAR at 7:45pm. Great movie, in fact we are going to go see it again, but this time we are going to see it in IMAX! Heck yes!

All and all the last couple weeks have been great. Got lots going on in the month of January, after all I do have a wedding to plan. Engagement Pictures, Invitations, Bridesmaid Dresses, Mom's dress, 2 bridal shows and so much more.....

Stand Strong and Immovable in Faith

I was looking around on http://www.blogger.com/www.lds.org and I came up on a talk titled "What Latter-day Saint Women Do Best: Stand Strong and Immovable" by Julie B. Beck, below is only one part of the talk, but I find it inspiring. It reminds me that I MUST work on these things so that I may be able to do my part as a woman under the Lord's plan. I challenge all of you to do the same! I love you sisters!

Latter-day Saint women must be STONG and IMMOVABLE in their faith. They can and should excel in living and sharing their testimonies of the Lord Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. We do this as we:

1. Make and keep covenants with Him.

2. Are worthy and worship in His temples.

3. Study His doctrine in the scriptures and the words of prophets.

4. Qualify for, recognize, and follow the Holy Ghost.

5. Share and defend His gospel.

6. Participate in sincere personal and family prayer.

7. Have family home evening.

8. Live principles of self-reliance and provident living.

These are essential things which must be done before nonessential things. These are simple, indispensable practices that almost seem mundane when we talk about them. However, they are marks of discipleship which have always been foundational for Relief Society sisters. No one can do these things for us—these are personal practices and habits that set us apart as strong and immovable for that which is correct.
What a different world and Church this would be if every Latter-day Saint sister excelled at making, renewing, and keeping covenants; if every sister qualified for a temple recommend and worshipped more often in temples; if every sister studied the scriptures and doctrines of Christ and knew them so well that she could teach and defend those doctrines at any time or place. Think of our combined strength if every sister had sincere prayer every morning and night or, better yet, prayed unceasingly as the Lord has commanded. If every family had family prayer daily and had a family home evening once a week, we would be stronger. If every sister was self-reliant enough to be able to give freely of her knowledge, talents, and resources and if every sister’s discipleship was reflected by what she said and what she wore, we would be immovable in that which is correct.

Tis' The Season

Oh my goodness.....it is that time again! I absolutely love Christmas! All growing up I looked forward to the day after Thanksgiving! We would always decorate the tree and listen to mannheim steamroller blasting on my Dad's killer stereo! It was so much FUN! Now as an adult I still look forward to that day, yesterday after working at Sprint I came home and started the decorating....1st I started with the garland on the plant shelves and then I waited for David to come over and help me with the rest. We put the tree together, limb by limb and then I put the lights up, he put the star up and we both put the bulbs up. It was tons of fun! Thank you David for all your help and making my tree decorating time just as memorable as all the other years! I love you!

Our First Road Trip

David and I decided to take a road trip!

1st Stop: Twin Falls, Id

We left on Thursday and went to Twin Falls....the reason...well that I cannot tell you just yet!

2nd Stop: Idaho Falls, Id

We contiuned our travels from Twin Falls on thursday to Idaho Falls to visit the Pugmire Family. We got there around 10pm and stayed up till about 12:45 just chatting with them! Man I miss them. We got up nice and early the next day to do scripture study with the family and to have some yummy crepes! Marisa got the kids off to school and then we got ready for the day. At 10am we were in the movie theater, just waiting for NEW MOON to start! I must say this movie was WAY better than the first one, but it still had some real cheesy moments! Still a good movie and I will buy just because it is part of the Twilight series! Sorry No pictures from our visit in IF.

3rd Stop: Roy, UT/Salt Lake City, UT

We arrived in Roy, UT on Friday night. We went to Morgen and Jade's house to pick them up and then drove over to Jodee's house to meet them for dinner! We ended up staying Friday and Saturday night with Morgen and Jade! Every time I have been down to Utah I always stay at Jodee's house, so it was pretty nice to be able to spend a whole 2 days Morgen & Jade! On Saturday morning we woke up, got ready and headed to Salt Lake City. We walked around Temple Square and then down to the Gateway Mall (ate and did some shopping) then went back up to Temple Square. My favorite part this time around was doing a tour though the Conference Center. At the top it is so cool! David, Morgen & Jade....Thank you so much for one of the best days ever! I LOVE you all so much!

At the end we started to get silly! Us girls decided it would be fun to do cartwheels in the parking garage...so David took our picture!

Finally the Search is Off!!!

Okay, so for a few months I have been looking for a picture of Jesus Christ! I have looked at Deseret Book & Seagull Book and never found anything that spoke to me! A couple months ago I had been at Costco and saw some beautiful pictures of the Boise Temple, but never had time to actually look at ALL the pictures! Well Costco has these road shows and I told my Mom (who works at Costco) to let me know the next time that particualr roadshow was there....Well guess what they started to setup on Nov. 12 and they will be at the Nampa Costco till Nov 22nd. So I hurried my behind down there to check it out. Well the search is finally off....I found a couple pictures of Christ and they totally speak to me....I love them!

Thursday Thought: Excuse Me, Are You Jesus?

I got this story in an email today and thought it would be perfect for thoughtful Thursday! I hope all of you will enjoy and be inspired by this story as much as I was. I challenge all of you to be more like Jesus!

A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago . They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding. ALL BUT ONE !!! He paused, took a deep breath, and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned.

He told his buddies to go on without him, waved good-bye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor.
He was glad he did.

The 16 year old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her, no one stopping and no one to care for her plight.

The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.
When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, 'Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay?' She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, 'I hope we didn't spoil your day too badly.'

As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, 'Mister......' He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued, 'Are you Jesus?'
He stopped in mid-stride, and he wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: 'Are you Jesus?' Do people mistake you for Jesus? That's our Destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace.
If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would.

Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day.

You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit.
